Core Power Elite comes in three flavors: vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Every 14 fl oz bottle carries 42g of protein and 230 calories, so the choice comes down to taste, sugar and a few small label differences. Here is how the three compare.
Core Power Elite Flavors Compared
Numbers below come from retailer-published nutrition labels for one 14 fl oz bottle. Labels can change, so check the bottle you receive.
| Flavor | Protein | Calories | Total sugar | Added sugar | Carbs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vanilla | 42g | 230 | 8g | 0g | 8g |
| Chocolate | 42g | 230 | 7g | 0g | 9g |
| Strawberry | 42g | 230 | 7g | 0g | 8g |
All three list 3.5g of fat (2g saturated). Calcium is 70% of the Daily Value for vanilla and chocolate and 80% for strawberry. Sodium sits around 250 to 260 mg per bottle.
Vanilla
Vanilla is the most neutral of the three, which makes it the easiest to drink on its own or to use in coffee and smoothies. It has the highest total sugar of the group at 8g, all of it naturally occurring from the milk, with 0g added sugar.
Chocolate
Chocolate gets its flavor from alkalized cocoa. It has the highest carbs of the three at 9g and a touch more sodium, but 7g total sugar. If you want a dessert-style shake after a workout, this is the usual pick.
Strawberry
Strawberry is made with strawberry puree and colored with tomato lycopene extract. It has 7g total sugar, 0g added sugar and the most calcium of the three at 80% of the Daily Value.
What They Have in Common
The base is filtered lowfat milk. All three use the same sweetener mix of monk fruit juice concentrate, stevia leaf extract, acesulfame potassium and sucralose, plus carrageenan and cellulose gel and gum for texture. If you avoid artificial sweeteners or carrageenan, none of the flavors will suit you.
